2016 was one of the best years of my life! From January – October I was on a gap year before university, and during this time I finished my first manuscript, completed a law course, secured my first job, and even met the love of my life (my lovely, scruffy puppy) !
After this, I then completed my first term at the University of Warwick, as well as visited some wonderful places along the way.
Here are some of my favourite memories and events from 2016:
One. Being reunited with my friends
When Summer rolled around and I was reunited with all my friends who had gone to university or had started working.
Two. A day trip to London
On August 28th, I bought two train tickets to London for £12 (meaning we had to catch the train at 6am) and spent the day visiting museums and taking photographs.
Three. Meeting my puppy – Dora.
In August, my family decided it was time to get a puppy – sort of. Long story short, one day my dad went out into the back garden and found two dogs running around. They had broken through from the house behind us, and it turned out one of them was for sale. And that was how I met my puppy.
Four. My first term at university
Even though I spent my first day of university hoping my family would take me back home, I actually settled into university really quickly. Over the first term I experienced Fresher’s Week, celebrated my 20th birthday, befriended my lovely flatmates, and even got a First in my first exam. Our downfall is trying to keep the kitchen tidy – we just can’t seem to get the hang of it.
No explanation needed – Christmas is the best.
