Can you be happy for 100 days in a row?

We live in times when super-busy schedules have become something to boast about. While the speed of life increases, there is less and less time to enjoy the moment that you are in. The ability to appreciate the moment, the environment and yourself in it, isthe base for the bridge towards long term happiness of any human being.

71% of people tried to complete this challenge, but failed quoting lack of time as the main reason. These people simpy did not have time to be happy. Do you?

Every day submit a picture of what made you happy! It can be anything from a meet-up with a friend to a very tasty cake in the nearby coffee place, from a feeling of being at home after a hard day to a favor you did to a stranger.

#100happyday challenge is for you – not for anyone else. It is not a happiness competition or a showing off contest. If you try to please / make others jealous via your pictures – you lose without even starting. Same goes for cheating.

So first you register in the challenge >here<, then choose your favorite platform for submitting pictures. Here you can decide yourself on the privacy of your participation & happy moments:

  • Share your picture via facebook, twitter or instagram with a public hashtag #100happydays;

  • Come up with your own hashtag to share your pictures with to limit publicity. (Don’t forget to tell us how to find your pictures though 😉 )

  • Simply send your pictures to myhappyday (at) 100happydays.com to avoid any publicity.

Why would I do that? People successfully completing the challenge claimed to:
– Start noticing what makes them happy every day;
– Be in a better mood every day;
– Start receiving more compliments from other people;
– Realize how lucky they are to have the life they have;
– Become more optimistic;
– Fall in love during the challenge.

Even when the challenge is over the collected 100 happy moments can always remind you about the beauty of your life. For that, you can receive a little set of square prints with all your 100 happy days at the finish line of the challenge!

Visit http://www.100happydays.com/done, tell us the story of your challenge and get 100 happy moments printed. Voilà!

Today I am starting the 100 Happy Days mission, and not only this but I am collaborating with the very lovely Lisa from the WordPress blog www.thebrightsideliving.com!

I am very excited to be taking up this challenge, but I must admit I am even more excited to be sharing this small adventure with someone else. Lisa’s blog is motivational and uplifting. and so if you have the time you should totally check it out.

The idea of this journey is simple: post a photograph you have taken [*one that makes you happy, of course*] every single day for 100 days. After 100 days a follow up blog will be written, comparing our results on whether or not this simple act has actually made us feel happier, less stressed during the day, or frankly made no difference to us at all.

To keep other bloggers, followers, and readers up to date we have also decided post our 100 photographs (like it suggests above) on some type of social media platform, followed by the hashtag #100happydays and our blog names. The platform I am most likely going to select will be Instagram, on my blogger account @charlottewhitsey.wordpress. I am also going to link Lisa’s Instagram here, in case she decides to use the same platform – @thebrightsideliving.

At the end of each month, as [*if my maths is correct – it was never my strong point*]
this mini-experiment should end mid-July, I will also be posting about how it is going so far, along with a few selected pictures and why they make me happy.
