JUNE FAVOURITES

Hi everyone! I hope you have all had an amazing start to your Summer, whether you’re on holiday, just finished your exams, or still working. Here a couple of things I have purchased/ been given this month that I want to share with you!

IMG_7448Price: £1.00 each
Place: Wilkos
Opinion: As I’m trying to make this Summer the most productive it can be, I thought I would purchase a couple of notebooks so organising my CV, work, fitness plans, and just general day to day jottings would be simple to remember. I found these two gorgeous notebooks in Wilkos, and I also have the brown one in a white version too. They are both lined and the exterior print is made of card. The ones pictured above are A5, but the exact same prints are also available on Reporters Notebooks and larger, wire-bound notepads.

Similar prints can be found here and here.
And if you’re interested in having a matching stationary set, they are also available. It includes a pencil, rubber, ruler, a collection of stamps (x3) and a stamp pad.

IMG_74511 Nude Pink and 5 Damson
Price: £2.78 each
Place: Asda
Opinion: After tomorrow, I will no longer be brunette but blonde, and so I thought I’d grab a couple of lip liners just to test against my new colour. As you can see, I tried to pick two that were so far apart from one another. Nude Pink is a barely there, natural colour, for days where you want to aim for that “makeup-less look”, whereas Damson is closer to a dark purple-brown, which definitely stands out and leaves its mark [*aka, it made me very conscious after leaving big lip stains on a cup in a coffee shop*]. Each product is very glam in its own right, but I think Nude Pink just has the edge, and therefore is my favourite out of the two. They are very much worth the money you pay for them, and do provide lasting colour.

IMG_7452George Go! Balmy Mint Lip Balm
Price: £1.25
Place: Asda
Opinion: In all honesty, I was won over by the fact this product was mint. A couple of weeks ago I lost a lip balm similar to this and have been dying to replace it ever since. The pro of it is it’s mint. The con of it is it’s mint. Yes, it smells great, but I think it’s impossible for anyone to last the day without slowly eating it off.

Mark Gel Shine
Price: £7.00 reduced to £2.50
Place: Avon
Opinion: My mum gave this to me a couple of days ago after deciding she no longer liked it. I, on the other hand, love it. It’s bold and bright, and so far it has barely chipped off at all. However, I probably would not pay £7.00 for a nail varnish in general, and so maybe my brain just wants to praise it for the fact that I will never hold such an expensive nail varnish again. Who knows?

IMG_7453Price: £8.99 for 150ml
Place: Boots
Opinion: Another gift from my mum. If applied well, this Light to Medium spray works a treat. I’ve never self-tanned before [*in fact, I’ve probably never tanned ever*], and so against really pale skin I expected it to look a little orange or a bit too bronze. However, this was not the case. The tan didn’t last long – I guess I’m not really one for spur of the moment change. I lemon juice’d it off the day after [* my hands are still orange though*]. But for those who tan regularly, you may as well give this product a try.

IMG_7454Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith
Price: £6.99 paperback
Place: Amazon
‘When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible – and Strike knows that any of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.

With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them…’

The Shannara Chronicles – The Elfstones of Shannara

‘The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks is the story of an Elven people which have long been protected from banished Demons by an enchanted tree called the Ellcrys. IMG_7455IMG_7457IMG_7459Price: £19.99
Place: Ebay
Opinion: Finally, I wanted to share these amazing bands. For those of you, like me, who feel really uncomfortable at the gym, these are perfect. You can take them wherever you go, as they are very light and come in a Pro Tone Fitness bag, and save £16.99 [*or however much you would spend a month*] at the gym. Of course, I’d use these with other pieces of at home equipment [*- some of which were previously mentioned in April Favourites *]
